Fall into Pantone

pantone into fall

Pantone? What is that? Is it something you cook with?

That’s exactly what I thought when I first heard the word but sadly it has no relations to food. Since fall is already here, it’s time to get in with the trends and what’s better than knowing the fall “it” color. For 2015 we’re going for Pantone. Last year it was Marsala but it seems this year we’re going for a wide variety of colors. Now what exactly is Pantone? Pantone is basically matching colors to one another using specific printing inks.

The picture above shows you what Pantone looks like. All of them are one shade of a specific color but in that shade there are darker and lighter colors. There are also different levels telling you the level of Pantone it is.

If your not feeling the Pantone feel you can always go for the “basic” dark colors. Colors like black, maroon, pine green, and a blood red can be incorporated into your outfits. If you want more of the vibrant colors in your outfits you can add accented tones. Accessories will be your best friends in this case but if you feel spontaneous you can wear shirts or pants that are more vibrant.

Here are some suggestive colors:

The mustard yellow, deep purple, and dusty rose pieces all fall into the fall colors but still give you that POP. I showed you some dresses and a pair of shoes but if you’re uncomfortable wearing such “bright” colors, you can opt for jewelry. Accented pieces like bracelets, necklace, earrings, rings, and even nails can incorporate these colors.

But if you’re more like me and like the dark colors for fall, here are some suggestive pieces for you

The maroon booties, the dark green leather skirt, and the long black trench coast along with the little black dress (LBD) go amazingly well with any item of clothing you own. Since they are all unique in the shape and form it gives your more variety on how to style to the pieces.

Both the dark and “bright” colors can be mixed and matched to one another. They all don’t have to be worn with the same exact outfits that the pictures are showing. If you like the trench coat with a white dress instead of a black you can go ahead and wear that instead. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Clothes are meant to be a way to express yourself but you also don’t want to give ALL of yourself away to other. Just give them a sample.

As Rachel Zoe said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”

If the clothes I showed you aren’t your style that’s fine because everyone has different styles. I can’t force you to change your look but these are just some options if you need help with some clothing pieces. In the end you should feel confident in whatever you wear and let that show through.

So get up and run to your closet because fall is here and it’s time to say, “Bring it on!
